Theoretical  Approach

The research report looked into account the women experiences and historical backgrounds that shaped the needs to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls as outlined by United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN 2016).

In China (UNFPA 2013), traditionally the Chinese division of labour was that women would do domestic chores and be home keepers while men would go for hunting and gathering; rearing livestock, and manual casual work related duties. In traditional perspectives, Chinese customs cited that a man's opinion carries more weight than a female opinion.  Further, traditionally Chinese men were educated leaving women in the villages to do home cares, this created a lot of pressure from women who wanted to be treated fairly in the society. During the 19th Century, many gender based violence were recorded in China and the most prevalent form of GBV was domestic violence arising from intimate partners or girlfriends.

At the end of World War II (Institute 2020), numerous japan women who resided at colonized areas of imperial Japan, particularly Manchuria, were subjected to sexual violence. The Japanese women, held a mass violence protest that caused the Japanese government to respond by offering female counselling and establishment of medical facility for the victims. To date the Japan government is a signatory of the convention of eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls rights.

In Kazakhstan, the politics of primordialism had an influence on domestic violence on the women of Kazakhstan. According to (Ireland 2007) The Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, it explains how ethnicity and imperialism plays a negative role in propelling domestic violence in communities.

In conclusion on the theoretical approach as far as intersectional feminism, we can evidently say that women and girls’ rights have been misunderstood by governments and the general public.

This is because of social cultural perspectives, lack of adequate information on gender equality issues and an ignorant and non-tolerant community attitudes towards women and girls rights (Barbara Rodriguez 2018).
